This summer, motivated students from across the globe will join Oxford Royale Academy in Oxford. Throughout the duration of their courses, participants will have the opportunity to explore and discuss their chosen subjects in more detail than ever before, be taught by ORA’s experienced and passionate faculty, and get the chance to live and study in the environment of one of the best universities in the world. Whether you’re a first-time ORA student or a returning alumnus, you now have the opportunity to study for two or four weeks in Oxford’s beautiful surroundings. Courses are available in a variety of arts and STEM subject areas, including Medicine, Architecture, Law and Computer Science. Our New Perspectives programme offers students aged 13-15 the opportunity to live and study in a college of the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge. For each two-week session, students choose one combination of subjects from five possible pairs, allowing them to pursue areas of interest or to try out something new.
Oxford Summer English consists of over 20 taught hours per week (15 class hours and 5.25 taught workshop hours). This programme encourages students to learn English and develop their ability to communicate with people from different cultures and countries. ORA promotes a coherent and multi-cultural approach to English language learning, actively expanding students’ abilities and encouraging them to share ideas.
Our 13-15 Film Academy is a two-week extensive HD Digital Video Production course in which students learn the whole process of video production from the initial idea through to a final film. The course shows students how to plan, storyboard, script and then shoot and edit a short drama or documentary.
This course has been designed to provide students with a head start in the fascinating discipline of Computer Science. During two weeks of captivating study, participants will go far beyond what they learn at school, providing an insight into what future study or a career in Computer Science might be like. In addition, skills sessions and group projects will help students develop key abilities for future success, including leadership, teamwork and presentation skills.
This course has been designed to provide students with a head start in the fascinating discipline of Engineering. During two weeks of captivating study, participants will go far beyond what they learn at school, covering the diverse branches of Engineering Science including Civil, Structural, and Mechanical Engineering. The course will provide an insight into what future study or a career in Engineering might be like. In addition, skills sessions and group projects will help students develop key abilities for future success, including leadership, teamwork and presentation skills.
This course will provide participants with an unrivalled head start on the road to business success. The course will combine exciting, interactive study of the key principles of Economics and Business Studies with interactive group projects, case studies and skills sessions. The overall aims of this new two-week course from Oxford Royale Academy are to introduce students to the art of entrepreneurship, and to encourage creative ideas in a supportive and well-informed learning environment.
This is the perfect programme for any student considering future studies or a career in Law. During two weeks of interactive study and discussion, students on the course will be introduced to a variety of different fields within the discipline. A group project will enable participants to develop key skills for success in this highly competitive area, and students will also be given an early insight into life as a Law student at university or college. The overall aim of this new programme is to provide participants with an initial advantage as they start their journey towards becoming a lawyer.
This summer course has been designed to give students an early insight into what it takes to be a successful leader in the modern international community. The course will combine fun, interactive study of the key principles of leadership with skills sessions to help participants develop related skills, such as public speaking. Group projects enable students to put their new knowledge and abilities into practice, under the guidance of Oxford Royale Academy’s expert teachers. This new course will provide students with an exciting opportunity to go far beyond what they learn at school.
This two-week course from Oxford Royale Academy will introduce students to the exciting discipline of Medicine. With guidance from Oxford Royale Academy’s expert teachers, participants will engage in theoretical study of human anatomy and associated topics, alongside interactive skills sessions to help them develop key competencies for their future studies, such as presentation and interpersonal skills. The key aims of the Introduction to Medicine course are to provide students with an early insight into life as a doctor, and to give them a head start in the knowledge required to get there.
Where better to study architecture than the city of dreaming spires? Surrounded by Oxford’s inspiring buildings, the Oxford Royale Academy Introduction to Architecture course has been designed to introduce students to the fascinating subject of architecture. It teaches the secrets to building designs across the ages, ideal for expanding general knowledge, so that they’ll never look at a building in the same way again.
Whether you’re interested in becoming a fashion designer or you see yourself one day designing products, the Introduction to Fashion and Textile Design course from Oxford Royale Academy will provide a fascinating introduction to a rewarding career option. Students will spend their days in Oxford creating all manner of interesting print designs, before using those designs in fashion illustrations and a full sized fashion outcome.
Broadening Horizons offers the opportunity to live and study in a college of the University of Oxford or Yarnton Manor. Students choose 3 subjects from 30 available options, allowing them to delve into their interests or experiment.
The teaching programme consists of over 20 taught hours per week (15 class hours and 6 workshop hours). Oxford Summer English helps students to learn English and to improve their communication with people from many cultures.
The course teaches specific skills needed to be a director, producer, director of photography or editor. With this knowledge students can create their film, identify their strengths and work with their fellow students to shape their piece of work.
The course aims to introduce students to the discipline of Computer Science, with particular emphasis on the exploitation of computer systems to calculate, analyse and present data.
The course aims to introduce students to the wide range of options they have when studying engineering at university, as well as the challenges facing the modern engineer.
This programme provides students with a course consisting of classes in international business and group activities focused on leadership. It is aimed at students who plan to study business at university or college.
This course combines sessions devoted to the process of applying to law school with sessions in which students will learn about an aspect of law and then debate it.
The Global Leadership Programme is designed to provide the young leaders of tomorrow with a summer course consisting of lectures, discussions and workshops that tackle the key issues faced by global leaders today and in the future.
This course is for students who are considering applying to British medical schools, who want to know more about the courses available and the application processes, and would like personalised advice on writing personal statements.
The Summer Architecture Programme will introduce aspiring architects to key concepts and theories, whilst at the same time providing an insight into what future study or a career in architecture will entail.
Across two weeks students identify, practise and improve the reading and writing skills they will need in their future study. The course focuses on the specific requirements of academic English.
